Truman Scholarship

This national fellowship provides up to $30,000 towards a graduate degree in the U.S. to 55-65 current juniors interested in pursuing a career in public service. Truman Scholars, selected for their extensive campus and community service, desire to influence public policies and education programs, leadership and communication skills, and strong academic record, are committed to changing the world.

Eligibility requirements for this year's Truman fellowship:

-Be a full-time junior expected to graduate between Dec 2022-Aug 2023 or a third-year student graduating this 2021-2022 academic year

-Have a 3.25+ GPA

-Be a US citizen or national

-Be able to attend a mandatory leadership training from May 24-29, 2022

-Be able to fulfill a 3-year mandatory career requirement within public service

*Even if you are not yet a junior but are still interested in this scholarship, it will benefit you to attend the session to help you prepare for this fellowship in your junior year.

Udall Scholarship

This national fellowship provides up to $7,000 towards an undergradaute degree in the U.S. to 50 current sophomores or juniors interested in pursuing a career in tribal policy, native healthcare or the environment. Udall Scholars, selected for their leadership and public service, are committed to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment.

Eligibility requirements for this year's Udall fellowship:

-Be a current sophomore (must have been enrolled for 3+ semesters) or junior and will be full-time in the 2021-2022 academic year

-Have a 3.0+ GPA

-Be a US citizen, permanent resident or national

-Be able to attend a mandatory leadership training from August 2-7, 2022

-If you are interested in native healthcare or tribal policy, you or your parent or grandparent must be enrolled in a state or federally recognized tribe or band OR the applicant must be a permanent US resident/citizen who is a member of the First Nations of Canada; those interested in the environmental path do not need to meet this requirement

*Even if you are a freshman, but are still interested in this scholarship, it will benefit you to attend the session to help you prepare for this fellowship in your sophomore/junior year.
