Molecular Cell Biology Club (Membership and First General Meeting)

Interested in science, biology, or molecular cell biology? Join the Molecular Cell Biology Club at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. This club aims to foster student engagement in cell biology, offer extracurricular educational opportunities, and facilitate interactions with peers and professionals who share similar interests. Upcoming events include Research Career Talks, Study Halls (with officers who have experience as Teaching Interns for BIOL 275), Social Events, and more. For those interested in becoming part of this community, please fill out the provided Google Form. The first General Meeting will be held on Wed, Sept 18th from 5-8 PM at KUY 207.

National Security Agency Cooperative Education Program

The National Security Agency Cooperative Education Program offers students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in computer science, computer and electrical engineering, data science, math, cybersecurity, or language-focused majors such as Chinese and Russian through our Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program. A rotational schedule is followed, with one semester spent at school and one semester at the NSA until graduation. During each work tour, a regular 40-hour week is worked, and the specific areas of career interest are revealed. A minimum of 52 weeks (one year) of work is required before graduation. The application period is open from February 1 to March 31 and from September 1 to October 31.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program Funding Opportunities

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) has announced their upcoming funding opportunities. These include Entering Research and Creative Work (ERC) Funding (deadline: October 10, 2024), Project Funding (deadline: October 10, 2024), and Presentation Funding (deadline: Prior to event date on a rolling deadline [3 months in advance strongly recommended]).

Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi Workshop

The Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PPMAH) will host a workshop on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Pre-Medical students, JABSOM medical students, and Philippine Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PMAH) Foundation physicians will attend, allowing individuals to network with other healthcare professionals and aspiring physicians.

Graduate Program in Biological Chemistry (GPBC)

The Graduate Program in Biological Chemistry (GPBC) at Johns Hopkins University is now accepting applications for the class of 2024. The program provides extensive training in various biological processes and has a long history of research excellence. A supportive and interactive environment is offered, with diverse career paths for graduates. The application deadline is December 3, 2024. ​

11th Annual Tracerfire Training

The 11th Annual Tracerfire Training is here! This two-day event offers an in-depth look into cyber incident response with guidance from industry experts. Attendees can apply for a free scholarship to participate. Engage in challenges like identifying causes behind power outages, election tampering, and crypto mining activities. Gain hands-on experience with the Cyber Kill Chain, forensic analysis, malware communication, reverse engineering, and SIEM/IDS tools. ​This event will take place from December 9th-10th, 2024.
