Google Generative AI Workshop 2024

The Google Generative AI Workshop will be held on Thursday, September 19th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the University of Hawaii, Information Technology Center (ITC), 2520 Correa Road, Rooms 105AB. Attendees will gain insights into Gemini’s capabilities for image analysis, prompt design, and conversation generation. Techniques in prompt engineering using Vertex AI Studio will be demonstrated to refine AI-generated outputs, and the use of Jupyter Notebooks for modifying and testing generative AI code implementations will be covered. Laptop required to complete labs. ​

Pre-Health Undergraduate Mentoring Program Orientation Registration

Registration is now open for the Pre-Health Undergraduate Mentoring Program orientation! Upperclassmen (60+ credits) can gain valuable experience by mentoring lowerclassmen (<60 credits), sharing advice, and building their resumes. Lowerclassmen will benefit from on-campus or virtual support to navigate college life and pre-health studies. Sign up for the info session by Monday, September 23rd at 11:59 PM. ​

NASA DEVELOP National Program Spring 2025 Research Opportunities

The NASA DEVELOP National Program is currently offering exciting 10-week paid research opportunities for Spring 2025. This program focuses on using NASA's Earth observing satellites to address environmental concerns. Participants will work on projects related to water resources, disaster management, and ecological conservation, and will produce deliverables such as technical reports, presentations, and videos. No prior GIS or remote sensing knowledge is required. The program is open to students, recent graduates, and early career professionals. Applications are open from August 26th to October 4th, 2024, for positions starting January 27th, 2025. Opportunities are available at various locations across the U.S., including virtual options. Webinars will be held on September 6th and September 24th for additional information.

Virtual Open House for Biomedical PhD and MD/PhD Programs at Rutgers New Brunswick/Piscataway

The Biomedical PhD Programs Virtual Open House will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM Eastern Time. This event will provide an overview of the programs and world-class resources available to Rutgers graduate students, including the iJOBS career exploration and development program. Dean Janet Alder will present, followed by a panel discussion featuring current PhD and MD/PhD students, who will answer questions and discuss programs in Molecular Biosciences, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Nursing, Toxicology, Exposure Science, and Public Health.

11th Annual Tracerfire Training

The 11th Annual Tracerfire Training is here! This two-day event offers an in-depth look into cyber incident response with guidance from industry experts. Attendees can apply for a free scholarship to participate. Engage in challenges like identifying causes behind power outages, election tampering, and crypto mining activities. Gain hands-on experience with the Cyber Kill Chain, forensic analysis, malware communication, reverse engineering, and SIEM/IDS tools. ​This event will take place from December 9th-10th, 2024.

2025 Submillimeter Array Interferometry School

The Center for Astrophysics | Harvard and Smithsonian, alongside ASIAA and U.H. will be holding a school in Hilo from January 6-10, 2025. The goal of the school is to provide a broad knowledge of interferometry and data reduction techniques at (sub)millimeter wavelengths for graduate students, postdocs and scientists outside the field of sub-mm interferometry. Some travel support for early-career researchers will be available as needed for participation.

NSA Codebreaker Challenge 2024

​NSA is always recruiting bright determined individuals to help protect our country! Are you up to the challenge? Nation-State Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are targeting their Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors. The infiltration and sabotage of U.S. military operations must be stopped by leveraging skills in reverse engineering, vulnerability research and exploitation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cryptanalysis, forensics, and programming. The event will take place from September 16, 2024, to January 17, 2025.
