    BOTANY 130: Hawaiian Plant Ecology

    Join us this summer to explore the unique plants and ecosystems of Hawaiʻi. In this course, you will learn about the origin, evolution, ecology, conservation, and cultural significance of Hawai‘i’s ecosystems. Through weekly field trips, you'll have the opportunity to visit Oʻahu’s native ecosystems, from bogs to cloud forests and alpine plants to dryland shrubs.

    BIOL 402: Principles of Biochemistry – Summer 2025

    UHM SEA-PHAGES has launched!

    MATH 305 : Probabilistic Models

    ​Explore the mathematical foundations of uncertainty  with MATH 305: Mathematical Modeling – Probabilistic Models. This course delves into stochastic processes, Poisson processes, Markov models, estimation techniques, and Monte Carlo simulations, with a focus on applications to biological and physical processes in both natural and engineering applications.

    MATH 301 : Discrete Mathematics

    Math 301 is an introductory survey of several interesting and important areas of mathematics that are not part of the `usual' sequence that starts with Calculus.  Topics include number theory, combinatorics, and graph theory, as well as some basic logic and set theory, and an introduction to proofs, including mathematical induction.

    The Learning Emporium is a tutoring service that offers introductory study for mathematics, chemistry, information & computer sciences, and physics. They currently offer online tutoring and in-person tutoring for the general chemistry only. For more information you can visit their website.     The Academic Resource Center or ARC is a free option for all UH students that specializes in providing tutoring based services. Their sessions are available both online and in-person and are done through STAR Balance. For more information you can visit their website.     The Housing Success Center is located in the room to the right of Hale Aloha Cafeteria or is available on Zoom. They are available Sunday-Thursday from 6-9 PM with no appointment needed. They offer help with Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics but the space can also be used to study and chill. For more information you can visit their website.
    The Online Learning Academy or OLA provides tutoring and mentorship to students in underrepresented groups to promote higher education. They offer tutoring in math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, environmental science, writing, language arts, and introductory college level biology, chemistry, and physics.     The Writing Center is a free resource to help grow and edit your writing. The center is available online from Monday-Wednesday, 9:00am to 4:30pm, and Thursdays 9:00am to 3:00pm.
